Nikki Lane and Brent Cobb entertained us with their anti-acrimony ode “Soapbox” off of Brent Cobb’s 2020 record Keep ‘Em on They Toes, and now they will be hitting the road together on a joint tour later this summer and into the fall dubbed the “Soapbox Derby Tour.”

“We all ought to want to be Nikki Lane when we grow up,” says Brent Cobb about the songwriter and vintage fashion maven. “She’s just a boss at anything she does. So, when the idea for the first full band tour since the pandemic came up, there was no one else I could imagine sharing the moment with. I suppose we’re cut from a similar cloth and that family feeling amongst the crowd is what I’m looking the most forward to at these shows. It’s gonna be something really special.”

“Headed out on the road, and who better to ride along with than the incredible Brent Cobb,” Nikki Lane says. “I liken sharing a stage or a song with Brent to a holiday meal. It’s something so familiar, but you just don’t get to do it often enough. We’re from the same neck of the woods, as they say. So when we get together, my band and his wife Layne – and their crew. We know how [to have] a good time, and we put on a good show, but that don’t mean we might not just go off the rails for a moment. Cause we’re swapping whiskey and tequila, telling stories and talking shit, and there’s just no tellin’ what might happen.”
