Darren Deese is a modern country singer and Nashville recording artist hailing from Waxhaw, North Carolina. Growing up in Union County, he sang in church choirs and was heavily influenced by his family’s love of music. His grandmother introduced him to Hank Williams Sr., while his mother played Glen Campbell and Randy Travis (who famously shares Deese’s local roots in the neighboring town of Marshville, NC). As a teenager, artists like Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton, and George Strait shaped his aspirations to become a country music artist.
Darren’s sound is described as “traditional country with a splash of soul.” His debut country EP, recorded by legendary BMG producer Jeff Huskins, is slated for release in mid-May 2026, just ahead of his major summer festival performances.
